Solera ethics codes

Many organisations have been forced to adapt to new requirements vis-à-vis transparency, sustainability and the integrity of the organisation itself, as well as Corporate Social Responsibility, which is of the utmost importance for the most competitive organisations.

This is why SGE 21 (Ethical and Socially Responsible Management System) sets forth certain requirements to help meet these factors.

Among them, and in accordance with the SGE 21 standard, every organisation must draw up a code of conduct, which must comply with the following guidelines:

  • Be specific and consistent with its values and set forth and specify the Social Responsibility Policy.
  • Be approved by the organisation´s highest governing body.
  • Establish the appropriate channel or channels for resolving doubts, complaints, claims, reports or suggestions on aspects related to the organisation´s Ethical and Socially Responsible Management.
  • Establish sanctioning measures applicable in the event of non-compliance.
  • To be known and understood by the people working for and on behalf of the organisation.
  • The organisation shall put in place mechanisms to make it easier for this code to be reviewed, updated and adhered to.

Linked to this, a social responsibility policy must also be drawn up. This policy must:

  • Include a commitment to integrate social, environmental, ethical and governance issues into its operations and strategy in order to maximise the positive impact on its stakeholders.
  • Be approved by the organisation´s highest governing body.
  • Be communicated to all persons working for and on behalf of the organisation.
  • Be made publicly available.

With the commitment to implement and demonstrate compliance with the standards set forth by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) (those derived from the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights), Solera complies with these measures through its own mission to supply low voltage electrical material to the national and international market, obtaining, along the way, the profitability required to grow in a sustainable way, with the aim of exceeding the expectations of our Customers, Suppliers, Administration, Employees, Society and the Environment.

Through this code, Solera enters into contract with its suppliers, with the intention of undertaking to comply and respect the content herein, while ensuring that the different suppliers, subcontractors and collaborators comply with the fundamental principles and conduct.

Taking into account the standards set forth by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), those derived from the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights, Solera sets forth the following Fundamental Principles:

  • Child Labour: Except in cases permitted by the ILO, child labour is strictly prohibited.
  • Abolition of Forced Labour: Slavery or forced labour in all its forms is prohibited, including, in particular, any work sought from any person under the threat of penalty or without remuneration.
  • Freedom of Association: Respect any means by which workers are represented or express themselves authorised by the legislation in force.
  • Occupational Health and Safety. Any conduct that violates the physical and/or moral health of workers is prohibited.
  • Remuneration and working hours. Respect the regulations in force, in particular vis-à-vis remuneration, working hours and conditions.
  • Bullying or abuse. Any form of harassment, in particular sexual or psychological harassment, is prohibited.
  • Environment. Solera respects and complies with the laws in this area and recalls its commitment to sustainable development, by including it in its MISSION.
  • Discrimination. Any form of racial, ethnic, religious, political and/or sexual discrimination is prohibited.

On the other hand, Solera undertakes to carry out and enforce its suppliers´ commitment to society by setting out their Fundamental Conducts:

We also demand the same from our suppliers.
  • The fight against corruption: Solera, undertakes to ensure that its employees and collaborators do not enter into contractual relations with its clients for their own direct or indirect benefit (gifts or in kind or financial benefits).

At Solera, we strive to stand out from our competitors through continuous improvement, taking into account all stakeholders, involving everyone that is part of the company, managing knowledge, implementing management systems that help us to remain up to date vis-à-vis digitalisation, industry 4.0, cybersecurity and business continuity, the quality of our products and services, respect for the environment... in short, everything that makes us improve, because we know that…
