HR DEPARTMENT INTERVIEW
  1. Who is currently working in the department and what can you tell us about them?

The company has just recently created the HR department. Until now, the HR-related work was managed by different people within the organisation. At present, I am in charge of the department and I work alongside my colleague Isabel, who has kept me up to date on everything related to personnel and has made it much easier for me to adapt to the company.

Isabel is an administration assistant, and has been with the company for 39 years, so she knows the company and the staff like the back of her palm. She mainly helps me with the administrative management. She has spent her entire career with the company; she started out at the Cañete factory and was one of the first people to join the Paterna team.

I joined the company in November. I have a degree in Human Resources, so my professional career has always been linked to the organisation and management of companies; firstly, in the labour side of things, where I trained and gained experience on how a company works from the inside, what obligations it has when it comes to labour law, what conflicts may arise among employees... always from a more legal perspective. For some time now, I have been more focused on human resource management, on providing solutions to the organisation from the point of view of managing people.

  1. What would you say is the department´s goal?

The department´s goal is to efficiently and effectively manage the company´s employees and to motivate them through training policies, talent retention, etc.

  1. And your functions?

I oversee the management of employee training, PRL, control of payroll issues, absenteeism and keeping on top of sick leave, etc.

  1. What would you highlight about your day-to-day life at Solera?

You never get bored, the day goes by quickly and you always learn something new. That´s the thing about a company with almost 200 employees, you are always kept on your toes.

  1. What have you achieved so far and how does it benefit our clients?

I only joined the company in November 2020, so my contributions to the company so far are mainly to do with setting up a department that didn´t really exist until now. Nevertheless, the fact that this department didn´t exist didn´t hinder Solera from being able to manage staff almost flawlessly, through a model of close leadership and continuous improvement, where mistakes are not perceived as something bad, but as an opportunity for improvement.

One of the things I have dealt with was to conduct personal interviews with the entire company to assess, among other things, the level of overall satisfaction. The feedback could not have been more positive, with 92% of employees saying that they feel happy or very happy to work for the company.

  1. Tell us a little bit about your current projects.

Solera is an innovative company committed to all labour and social aspects. We are currently implementing the actions set out in the Equality Plan that we got underway last year, and we plan to undertake a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) project together with the Technical Department.

  1. What do you hope to achieve in the future?

I would like to keep up the family spirit in the company as well as encourage collaborative participation and play my part in contributing to improvements in the organisation.
